Keeping Your Ugg Boots Looking Good

Blog

Ugg boots are a classic, loved not only for their comfort and warmth but also for their distinctive look. Most women who own them would hate the thought of being without them, as they're the perfect thing to throw on with some comfortable clothing when you need to head out, especially if there's a chill in the air.

To keep your Uggs in good condition and looking presentable for as long as possible, it's a good idea to stay on top of cleaning them. Just follow these simple tips and you'll have an easier time maintaining your boots.

Deal with stains quickly

If your boots come into contact with anything that could leave a stain, don't wait to find out if it's permanent or not.

With greasy substances, putting a bit of cornstarch on the site of the stain is a great way to remove it. Leave it to absorb the grease for at least a few hours, but preferably overnight, and follow up with a gentle sponge cleaning.

If you get mud on your boots, gently remove the excess and leave the rest to dry on. This can be removed with a suede brush followed by a careful clean with a suitable product.

Keep the boots dry

Water can soak into Uggs and leave stains, so be careful about wearing them in the rain. If they get wet, dab at them with a paper towel and leave them somewhere ventilated and warm to dry out. Don't put them away in a cupboard until they're totally dry.

Help maintain the shape

Because Ugg boots aren't made from stiff, firm material, they can lose their shape over time. When you're not wearing them, put a boot shaper inside or stuff them with newspaper. Keeping them dry also helps prevent them from becoming misshapen.

Keep the inside fresh

That soft sheepskin lining is particularly good at absorbing sweat, but it will start to smell over time. Try and avoid wearing your boots every day, and give them time to dry out. You might also find a shoe freshening product helps. Keeping them smelling fresh extends their lifespan and helps you get more wear out of them.

Use a protective product

A protective spray made for sheepskin or suede will repel water and stains, making caring for your Ugg boots much easier. Apply it as soon as you get your boots and after every clean, to keep them looking as good as new even when you wear them in bad weather.

Classy petite corporate wear

When I was growing up, I kept expecting that any year I would have the growth spurt the other girls all had. It never happened and I'm still the same height I was in 8th grade. I am quite short for an adult lady, and as I move up the corporate ladder it's important for me to find outfits that make me look like a professional woman and not some kid dressing up in her mum's work clothes. This blog is all my inspiration of petite corporate wear that looks great as well as some ideas of great shops to try for petite clothes.
